This project entailed transforming a building on the slope of the village of Corciano into a museum for an Etruscan collection. While the building code would have permitted the addition of new levels, our proposal rejected this possibility in order to avoid blocking the spectacular panoramic view from the village above. The design is very much internally focused, with the building externally visible only through a striking rooftop garden surrounded by a parapet of glass. The interior features flexible modules and special lighting, which is achieved with coloured ‘portholes’ located in the rooftop garden.
