The roundabout on Via delle Nazioni Unite is located at the highway exit and is intended to serve as one of the ‘gateways’ to the town of Scandicci. At the centre of the roundabout the Tuscan countryside is represented by two hills surrounded by three stone walls, among which are olive trees and herbs. A two-level fountain and a central 'valley' that opens up to reveal the view of the hills to the south of Scandicci create an impressive new city entrance.
