A new entrance dominated by a full height atrium – essentially a continuation of the piazza that lies before it – brings order to the municipal building of Calderara. The atrium permits easy orientation among the various sectors and simplifies circulation.
A continuous skin envelops the previous extensions, lending an overall sense of uniformity and highlighting the original historic seat of the municipality, which is linked to the new building by an aerial glass bridge. The skin creates comfortable working spaces with diffused light and a system of movable openings.
